This smoky quartz with a secondary growth that has hints of amethyst. This specimen was found at a site that is gone forever because the Pritchett Farm subdivision in Raleigh, NC is built on top of it. Inspection with a loupe reveals red rutile crystals peppering one side of the specimen.
